MIM normal defects and solutions

With the development of technology,MIM metal injection molding has been used in various industries,I think people have studies this should have know very clear.But of course everything have two side.Now let me introduce some of the defects of MIM and the most important thing is how to solve these defects when problem occurs?

Defect one:Short shot 

Short shot is a phenomenon when the mould cavity can not be filled completely,the main reason to cause this is viscous flow.Near the running gate, there will be a very think structure,during injection molding process,when melt mass passes this location,it will face a big forward resistance.if the melt mass can not be flowed at this time and there is no heat added,which causing the melt mass to be solidified,then short shot problem happened.
 
Defect two:Flow mark
Flow mark is the trace like curved snakes in the direction of running gate to flow.When this problem happens,we can add resistance counter-needle in front of the running gate to prevent flow injection.Also at the same time,enlarging the cross section of running gate is also necessary.

Defect three:ejection pin convex
Ejection pin convex is caused when ejection pin ejects parts,as the parts are not cooled and solidified enough,with strong ejection force,it will cause parts to be protruded,the ejection pin will be convex to the surface.Generally when this problem happened,lowering the speed of ejection and mold temperature,extending the cooling time should be enough.
